TQP annually hosts both a spring and fall retreat, as well as a spring and fall workshop.
Details for current planned events are below.
March 4th | 12pm - 5pm
J. Michelle Watts, a quilt artist who has lived in the southwest for almost 40 years, will be leading us in a workshop on creating textile totems, or quilted wall sculptures. Textile totems, Michelle says, are a fresh, new idea. The totems combine easy piecing techniques with your favorite embellishments, while using 5-6 scrap fabrics in coordinating colors. So, you can make them as bright and sunny as the southwest or as green and beautiful as an emerging spring in Virginia! Michelle will share a variety of different creative design ideas while demonstrating the basic layout and assembly process, as well as how to finish the wall sculpture and get it ready to hang.
To register, complete the form below and return to Sharon Chickering (rkelaw@aol.com).
The registration fee is $35 for members and $45 for non-members.
