Each year our guild offers a challenge for our members to complete. It is a great way for our members to connect with each other, show off their creativity, and raise awareness of the art of quilting with the community.
Who’s up for a challenge? Put your creativity to work this year by designing a small quilt inspired by a letter of the alphabet. Originally we thought it should be our initials, but I guess some of us don’t like our initials, so any letter will do! This is such a wide open category - really you can make anything you want & then decide what letter it represents. (Hmm, is that cheating?)
Our quilts will be displayed at the Blacksburg Library January & February 2027.
The library really loves having our quilts on display. If you’ve been there during the exhibit you know what a cheerful, cozy feeling they bring to an otherwise kind of drab space! Last year we had 17 participants; can we do better this year? Put on your creativity cap & join the challenge!

2025 Challenge Quilts
For our 2025 Guild Challenge, members were tasked with creating a small wall hanging that combined using a log cabin pattern and applique. Quilts submitted by members completing the challenge were displayed at the Blacksburg Public Library through the end of January 2026.
